Aan received his education in Jamaica at Garlogie All Age and Holmwood Technical High Schools. His passion for teaching led him to Mico University College where he was trained as a teacher, a career in which he made his lifelong career retiring in December 2022 due to ill health.

He taught in Jamaica at Rock River All Age School in Clarendon and St Andrew Technical High School in Kingston. Thereafter, he was recruited and served at Bahamas Baptist College, St John’s College and Kingsway Academy High School in Nassau, Bahamas. He has impacted many young people over the decades, most of his students affectionately call him Mr. T.

Though of a somewhat quiet disposition, Aan was a beautiful person both inside and out. He was a natural charmer with a very infectious smile, one that could light up a room easily. So pleasant and loved was he, that up to this day persons in his home community still call him by his pet name ‘Sweetie Pie’.

Though very technical minded, his interests were many. He was at times referred to as a ‘jack of all trades’. At one time he joined the Army and served as a captain in the Jamaica National Reserve. Music, sports, and computers were also among his favorite pastimes.

He will be dearly missed by the Central Baptist Church family, Berean Baptist Church family, Kingsway Academy family and many other friends and acquaintances whose lives he touched. His passing will leave a vacant spot in the hearts of his loved ones. We loved you well, but Jesus loves you best.

Rest in peace our Sweetie Pie.
