MY LIFE STORY
It has been about seven (7) months since we all congregated together in such a celebratory fashion for Henrietta. On this occasion the celebration is for me, Ardella Patricia Sands. What can I say…… despite the diagnosis that is attributed to my demise, my life was well lived! Such words can be spoken because I always considered myself a leader conducting my affairs “my way”.
While many may object to such a declaration and wonder how is it possible for a woman with no college degrees: a woman who has never held public office or even a position as Chief Executive Officer of a fortune five- hundred (500) company could have lived such a life. Well wonder no more; I learned at an early age that one’s life should not be defined by the abundances of things that they possess (Luke12:15). The education that I received as a child, into adolescence then onto womanhood in Rock Sound, Eleuthera was strong enough a foundation to prepare me for such a life well lived.
I found my strength and support in my relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I’ve had my ups and downs, short falls, and setbacks, but I’m grateful for life’s lessons, the greatest teacher of all.
To those of you who didn’t know, I’ve been sick for a while; diagnosed with cancer which I didn’t allow to prohibit me from living my life.
Of all the things I knew about life, one thing I never tried to deny is the fact that someday I would die. Therefore, while I should have been concerned as the changes in my body became more evident, I wasn’t believe it or not because, I reaffirmed my faith and placed my trust in my God by surrendering my desire to His perfect will for my life. Now you know why my life was well lived. Despite all that I have achieved and experienced in seventy (70) years my sins are forgiven and I finished my race strong.
THANK YOU! I’M RESTING IN THE ARMS OF JESUS
Signed,
Adrella Patricia Sands
